I’m standing to be Labour Students North West rep to build an active student wing that works alongside students’ unions, trade unions, Young Labour and the wider Party to fight for a free, decolonised and accessible education.

The marketisation of education treats students as consumers, turned into revenue streams and left with little support. The pandemic exacerbated this, with students from marginalised and working-class communities bearing the brunt. Our Party must remain committed to building a democratic, free, and accessible education system.

As the co-chair of Manchester Labour Students and North West Young Labour’s LGBT+ officer, I understand the importance of connecting students with the wider labour movement.

I have stood on picket lines with striking staff, organised teach-outs and political education events, and coordinated student solidarity networks across the region with North West Students Support the Strikes.

Socialist policies aren’t won alone. As North West rep, I will use my experience in building links with campus-wide groups such as the rent strike network and BDS UoM to build links across our region so we can effectively organise together.

I’m proud to be standing with the support of Momentum and trade unionists to fight for a socialist future.

Fight for a socialist future. Join the campaign.
