Daisy Carter

I’m Daisy Carter, and I’m restanding to represent the South West region on the Young Labour National Committee.

I have been a member of the Labour Party for 5 years now and it has been an honour to work with so many young socialists across my region as they organise around climate justice, workplace rights, and liberation struggles.

On the committee so far I have worked with comrades across the country to deliver political education, including at the national conference, supported local groups to register, and assisted with motions and policy positions.

Sadly I have faced hostility and pushback from the party when attempting to secure a democratic and autonomous South West Young Labour group. Despite barriers designed to disengage us I will continue to fight this so our young members can have a space to organise and educate.

Young members in our region deserve better and if re-elected I will continue to fight for socialism and anti-imperialist policies in our party; support young members organising in their local groups; and push for further democracy and autonomy in our organisation.

I’m proud to be standing with the support of Momentum and trade unionists to fight for a socialist future.

Fight for a socialist future. Join the campaign.
