FOR LABOUR STUDENTS ORDINARY
My name is Lizzy, and I am standing to be your Ordinary Rep on Labour Students committee. As a mature student living, working and studying in Norwich, I want to deliver for and represent students and young people so often left behind. Students and young people are facing unprecedented levels of inequality, from insecure housing, the cost of living crisis, discrimination and soaring student debts. In my work I have supported young people through educational careers in a system that values results over our futures and our health. I’ve seen how the profound impact of the pandemic on students has been ignored.
As your representative, I will proudly campaign for a transformed decolonised education accessible to all. I will work with regional and liberation reps to deliver a national programme of political education and stand in unwavering solidarity with UCU.
We have finally won a democratic student wing. Let’s take this opportunity to build a liberated, campaigning and socialist Labour Students which organises us on our campuses, in our workplaces and our communities.
I’m proud to be standing with the support of Momentum and trade unionists to fight for a socialist future.
