I’m running for Secretary of Labour Students to build a liberated, campaigning and socialist student wing.

The student wing of our Party has the potential to be a force for transformative politics. A free, decolonised and democratised education is possible if we fight for it.

Young Labour and the student movement have a proud history of standing on the right side of history, and we must continue that legacy - standing in solidarity with Palestine and our transgender comrades. An education system predicated on the oppression of some cannot liberate anyone.

Starting my degree in the midst of the pandemic, I have seen first-hand how marketised education puts profit above student wellbeing. From 2020-2021, I was an organiser with the University of London intercollegiate rent strike, helping organise a rent strike at my university. These struggles have taught me the power of collective action and the increasingly radical outlook of students.

I’m standing for a Labour Students that harnesses this energy and embraces all students who believe a better world is possible to fight for a free, decolonised, democratised education.

I’m proud to be standing with the support of Momentum and trade unionists to fight for a socialist future.

Fight for a socialist future. Join the campaign.
