Young Labour has a proud tradition of working with young socialists and trade unionists across the world. From young Austrian socialists coming to work with us in 2019, to our Chair representing YL in Brazil, the next International Officer must continue this tradition.
I learnt the importance of international solidarity through the Palestine Solidarity movement. Socialists must back the campaign supporting their liberation. The recent Amnesty report outlines facts that have been known for a long time. If elected, Young Labour will maintain support for Palestine, and call for an end to Israeli apartheid.
As the Far-Right grows in the UK, they act similarly across the world. We cannot simply aim to defeat them domestically, but must work with comrades to do so globally, learning from socialists across the world who have inflicted defeats on the Far-right to do the same at home.
It is only together, in solidarity, that we will see the global changes we need. I am standing to be Young Labour’s International Officer to help build the international solidarity that this, and our movement, depends on.
I’m proud to be standing with the support of Momentum and trade unionists to fight for a socialist future.
