Sophie Clark

Hi I’m Sophie, I’m a student organiser at Warwick and I’m running to be your West Midlands representative on Labour Students national committee.

As a college student, I campaigned with the national and local Youth Strike for Climate working alongside campaign groups to pull off the largest climate day of action in UK history, mobilising hundreds of thousands of people.

At University, I helped to organise the Warwick Rent Strike, winning back £5 million in rent rebates for students, as campaigns Officer for Warwick Action for Palestine, helped mobilised hundreds of students last year in solidarity with Sheikh Jarrah. As part of Red Square Movement I have helped organise action in solidarity with the UCU strikes.

I’ll bring this experience to Labour Students; building a liberated, campaigning and socialist student wing that organises students to win campaigns for a free, decolonised and democratised education. I’ll bring Clubs from across our region together to campaign, run political education events and develop activist organising skills.

I’ll help build a Labour Students which stands up for trans, muslim and marginalised comrades, and socialist politics. I am proud to be standing with the support of Momentum and trade unionists to fight for a socialist future.

Fight for a socialist future. Join the campaign.
